Chicken Chaap Recipe: Dishes made of chicken are very much liked among non-veg lovers. One such dish made from chicken is named Chicken Chap. This is a famous recipe of Kolkata, which is eaten by non-veg lovers with great fervor. This recipe is as easy to make as it is delicious to eat. So let’s know without delay how this Tasty Chicken Chap recipe is made.

Ingredients for making Chicken Chaap-

  • 2 chicken legs
  • 2 Chicken Thai
  • 1 cup hung curd
  • 2 small onions
  • 1/2 cup roasted besan
  • 2 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 tbsp red chilli powder
  • 1 tsp garam masala powder
  • 1 tbsp cashew paste
  • a pinch of saffron
  • 2 tbsp soaked poppy seeds
  • 1 tsp sugar (optional)\
  • 1 tsp kewra water
  • 3 tbsp ghee
  • 3 tbsp oil
  • salt to taste
  • 1 tsp cumin

Chicken Chap Recipe-

To make Chicken Chaap, first take a large mixing bowl, add hung curd, onion paste, ginger garlic paste, gram flour (for crunch), red chili powder, Kashmiri red chili powder, turmeric powder, garam masala paste and Add other dry spices and dry fruits and poppy seeds, kewra water, saffron. Now take a large bottom pan and add 3 tbsp ghee and 3 tbsp oil in it. Then let the cumin seeds crackle in it.

Now add the marinated chicken and all the spices and cook on low to medium flame. Keep stirring the chicken continuously to avoid burning and sticking to the bottom of the pan. Fry for 10-15 minutes or till the curry is dry. Now serve it hot with pulao, naan or roomali roti.
